Projects

Things I’m building, resurrecting, automating, or breaking on purpose.

Some of these are finished. Some are permanently “almost done.” Some exist mostly because I wanted to know whether I could make the thing work.

DARKNOISE >_

ACTIVE / ONGOING

This site.

Darknoise is the latest incarnation of a personal site that has been online, in one form or another, for a very long time. The current version runs on WordPress with a custom block theme built around the radical idea that a personal website should actually have a personality.

The work has included rebuilding the visual system, rescuing the old Ironjuden archive instead of quietly burying it, preserving old links, and making room for new writing, music, projects, professional history, and whatever else ends up here.

STACK: WordPress · custom block theme · CSS · bad ideas with good uptime

IRONJUDEN ARCHIVE >_

PRESERVED / STILL HAUNTED

The old site could have been deleted.

That would have been easier.

Instead, years of posts survived the migration into Darknoise — old opinions, old Internet debris, dead links, questionable formatting, and occasional evidence that I was once considerably more optimistic about technology.

The goal wasn’t to rewrite history. It was to keep it online.

THE MIX CD ARCHIVE >_

ONGOING

Before playlists became disposable and algorithms started choosing the next song, making somebody a mix required commitment.

I’m slowly dragging my old mixes onto the web: original sequencing, track lists, new artwork, liner notes, and the occasional reminder that seventy-five minutes was once a hard technical constraint.

Shuffle remains an act of vandalism.
