[:once upon a time:]

in light of my feelings on moving to New York, i found an old poem I wrote many years ago about my feelings on a city.

it feels only right that I post up some more.  maybe it’ll help remind me of who i used to be and help me figure out who i want to be.

What price friendship?
The call goes out, the answer heard.
We ride together, all for one.
An avenging angel, a wrathful bird.
And when the fight is finished,
When all is said and done,
When envy rears its ugly head.
When pride o’er takes honor
How far will one friend go,
To hurt another one.

untitled
Once I knew a man
He tried to fit in and belong
Yet something was lacking
Once I knew a man
Who gave up something very precious
Yet something was lacking
Once I knew a man
Who died alone and unhappy
And found what he was lacking
companionship

timing
Hello I must be going
And you arrived as I was going
And you left my life
Forever

time
Time is a predator
Stalking you, never relenting
You can’t fight it
You can’t beat it
You can only outrun it
Till it’s all over

dreamtime
From dusk till dawn
From night till morn
I search in vain for a glimpse of your pale sweet face
Every dim street a new hope
A chance to catch your figure dancing with the shadows, making love to the night
Join me in my day, my reality
The sun has almost bid us farewell. She knows I’m waiting for my sister moon.
Kiss the sky for me!
The stars spell out your name in exchange for my promise to cherish you as I cherish the night, so mysterious and beautiful like your eyes, that have stolen the stars and seem to hold them captive, as they captivate me.
Smile your wicked smile, lick you soft pink lips, blink your starlit eyes.
Place a hand upon my hip, take my hand and step onto the wind, let it rush through you, let your body go.
Our souls are dancing the minute waltz..56, 57, 58, 59…(psst,wakeup)

man, i was on some serious drugs back in the day
